There is no doubt, whatsoever, that my father loved music. I have already written a lot about that in another file entitled "The Power of Music." John E. Grace, my Dad, passed away in 1974. He had been a member of the marching band at Central High School in Manchester, New Hampshire; and a player in other bands, including the Nevers' 2nd Regiment Band. Dad loved the Big Band sound, but enjoyed many other types of music, too.
I feel very happy to have realized recently that I can share some of his favorite tunes, that he often played, by recording them from the cassette player, into the computer.
These are musical compositions played on the clarinet and melodica in the 1960s. I have been afraid to listen to the music often, for fear that the cassettes might be destroyed. Now, I also have the opportunity to share these tunes with his extended family of grandchildren and great-grandchildren across the country.
John E. Grace played flute and piccolo, as well as clarinet, saxophone, and melodica.
