A Photo Essay

In the autumn of 2008, we visited with Dick Violette who started this fine museum after having worked for the telephone company for years. He can tell you anything worth knowing about the establishment and growth of the telephone industry.

This is just one display of many at the NH Telephone Museum.

Mr. Alderic "Dick" Violette, founder of the NH Telephone Museum, stands in front of a small, bronze statue dedicated to the "CCC Worker." This is a miniature version of a larger statue, located at Bear Brook State Park in Allenstown, NH. Mr. Violette served in the Civilian Conservation Corps and in World War II.

There is a lot more to the museum than these few photos we have shown you. With any luck, we have whetted your appetite to stop by and visit, if you are in the neighborhood. The museum does have a nice gift shop. Its location in Warner, New Hampshire is fairly close to the Kearsarge Indian Museum. There is a Country style café that serves breakfast and lunch, just across the street, and there is a great bookstore within a very short walking distance. Another neighbor is the U.S. Post Office.
Telephone Museum - more telephones! One could spend all day here, reading inscriptions!
All in all, this is a delightful place to visit and is packed with history. Many thanks to Mr. Violette for personally showing us around the museum and allowing us to take these photos. He is a fine man and we are so proud to know him!
