Books by Patricia Lynne Grace Cummings

1)  *Just for Fun Redwork Book, (Redwork patterns). (2003).

2)  *Straight Talk About Quilt Care: Display, Cleaning, and Storage of New and Antique Quilts and Needlework. (2005).

3)  *Emma's Quilt, (Antique Redwork patterns). (2003).

4)  *Redwork Embroidery and Needlework Traditions in Europe and America. (2006).

5)  Redwork Renaissance: 49 Designs from an 1893 Coverlet, Third Edition, (2006).

6)  Profile of the Life and Times of John E. Grace, Credit Union Founder and Organizer, (2006). This book resulted in a museum exhibit at America's Credit Union Museum, Manchester, NH.

7)  In addition, Patricia compiled an unpublished report about the quilts of the New Hampshire Historical Society titled, Quilts of the NH Historical Society: A Study, 1993-94. (This publications was created for Curator use, only. This report was copyrighted, but not published).

cd cover for Ellen Webster e book

Our e-book:  Ellen Emeline (Hardy) Webster (1867-1950): Her Amazing Quilt "Charts," Her Writings, and Her Life, by Patricia and James Cummings, 2008.

8)  The biography of Ellen Emeline Hardy Webster is listed at the top of this page, written in 2008 and tells about the life story and quilt history work of New Hampshire's own quilt historian. 355 pages, 340 photos.

9)  Redwork Renaissance Revisited, first date of publication May 1, 2009. Features 187 pages and 239 photos/ graphics, with many pictures of antique Redwork and other embroidered items. Includes images of an heirloom quilt with caricature type motifs that were most likely designed by the famous Joseph Cummings Chase, an artist whose portraits of soldiers who served in
World War I can be seen in the National Gallery of Art. He was a prolific book writer, teacher, and artist. This quilt has been passed down, and belongs to one of his family members. We are honored to feature this unique baby quilt made by the grandmother of Stephanie Hatch.

A special cookie cutter quilt is featured, and all of the 49 designs from the 1893 summer coverlet that inspired our first book, Redwork Renaissance. In addition, designs are provided from a quilt made with 49 Penny Squares. A baby quilt, with ten animals, some whimsical, like a frog with a lasso, is shown. All of these quilts have images that are large enough to print and re-create. History is again included, as well as how-to-do-needlework instructions.

There are many special features of this book, including information about Crazy Quilts, and a beautiful quilt block by Linda Mageske. Many small items that feature Redwork are included. You'd really have to see this book!

Of the nine books I have written, five have been about Redwork, one about quilt care, two are biographies, and one is about a quilt collection.

The advantages of e-books are great.

1) They are physically smaller in size, yet yield much larger screen images than would be possible to print in hard copy due to the price and nature of printed materials.

2) The consumer can print out only the pages desired.

3) There is no need to try to make space in your library to store a large book.

4) In this pdf format, the reader can view screen images on the left hand side of the screen, if desired, and can readily scroll through the designs to chose one or more for printing.

If you love Redwork, and outline stitched motifs based on line drawings, you will love this new e-book!
