Fast, Fun & Easy Book Cover Art

by Jake Finch

A Book Review by Patricia Cummings

Be prepared to enjoy lots of inspiring visual examples of quilted book cover art designed by Jake Finch in her new book published by C&T Publishing, Inc. The publication of such a book is much overdue. Jake's ideas will have you running to gather up supplies and embellishments because of all of her creative ideas. These covers are suitable for any book in your household, whether a personal journal, a cookbook, or a sketchbook. Jake in not short of ideas or talent in putting all of this together in a user-friendly format.

In this book, there are step-by-step directions that leave room for your own whims and choice of decorative elements. Any of these book covers would make a terrific holiday gift. If you start making one now, by the time the holidays roll around again, you will be ahead of the game. I can guarantee that you shall probably wish to make more than one of these!

If you look at the examples that the author has made, you will soon realize her innate sense of color and her attention to fine details while planning the covers shown for illustration. This book is brimming with eye candy. The fabric seems to have so much energy, the colors appear to leap off of the pages. In my opinion, anyone would enjoy this book, but most especially those people who love to have the satisfaction of completing a quilted project in less time than it would take to finish a quilt of any kind.

The back cover says, "Transform Everyday Books from Basic to Beautiful." When you look at this book, you will see that Jake Finch has done just that, and in so doing, has provided some very lovely project ideas.
