"Quilts Around Town Show" Chester, Vermont 2007

photo taken by James Cummings, in Chester, Vermont on May 11, 2007.
The beautiful antique quilt above was hanging on the porch of an inn, with no further information about its provenance, nearby. This pieced quilt block can be seen in Barbara Brackman's Blockbase software program, listed as #4047, and called "Friendship Wreath," first published by Lockport Batting, or alternatively called, "Friendship Knot," as published by OCS Wheeler. Both of these blocks have pieced archs.
Thanks to Charlotte Bull, a member of the Quilt History list, for quickly pinpointing the origin of the design of this quilt. The block is similar to quilts with other names whose arcs are a solid piece of fabric. Thanks to all of my quilt historian friends who have taken a look at this and offered suggestions.
